Through the Roof radically inclusive Youth Arts Festival!
2023 has finished on a high with Through the Roof Youth Arts Festival; a series of events showcasing talent from the wonderful Glass Ceiling Arts Collective whānau, and presented in three locations across New Zealand.
Saturday 2nd Dec 2023 in Auckland
Saturday 2nd Dec 2023 in Tauranga
Saturday 9th Dec 2023 in Christchurch
Through the Roof was a fabulous and uplifting set of events. We showed off the 8 short films created by the young participants of our classes; epic cinematic creations they were, and in Auckland and Christchurch we presented live performances including extracts from our musical productions from the year including Grease, Finding Nemo, CATS and School of Rock. We also walked the Red Carpet!
“Through the Roof" was a day of spectacular fun and pure creativity for everyone. Because at Glass Ceiling, our mission is to create a radically inclusive society.
Merry Christmas and see you in 2024!
A look back through the year!
Lots of classes, lots of fun and lots of great shows
And lots of great memories
The Badger Story
Last year, on Thursday 3rd December, Glass Ceiling Arts Collective acknowledged the United Nations International Day of Persons with Disabilities with the release of our new multisensory theatre experience, The Badger Story.
The Badger Story is a really special and innovative digital project borne from the COVID-19 lockdown which, we hope, will be of great appeal to people with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) and their families.
IHC New Zealand recently wrote a very nice piece about The Badger Story in their quarterly magazine "Strong Voices". Read the article here.
