A remarkable tale of hope and adventure, Glass Ceiling Arts Collective (GCAC) Whangārei presents, The Lion King Jr.
This production has found its way into the hearts of millions.
The African savanna comes to life with King Mufasa, his son, and the future King Simba, Nala, Pumbaa, Timon, Scar, and more spectacular characters as they journey from Pride Rock to the jungle and back again. Scar is a resentful and jealous uncle who wants Pride Rock for himself and his hungry hyenas. He will even betray his brother and nephew to get there. Watch as Simba overcomes many challenges in this inspiring, coming-of-age story.
This vibrant tale has captivated worldwide audiences. With Sir Elton John and Tim Rice's music. Additional music and lyrics by Lebo M, Mark Mancina, Jay Rifkin, and Hans Zimmer.
Let yourself be inspired by our wonderful GCAC youth from Whangārei, who have worked hard to bring this beautiful story to you all.

The Costume Fitting
The cast had a great rehearsal last week as they tried on the costumes for the very first time. Kate Little, the photographer, came to see what was going on, so please enjoy her photos.
And a big thanks to Ormiston School in Auckland whose Lion King costumes we’re using in our production.
